Gambit | Rook Playtest

Introducing THE ROOK! Players will unlock this character in the middle of our chess-themed game. The Rook can dash vertically and horizontally.

Does the movement feel natural to you? Is the speed right? This play test also features breakable doors and a shield mechanic. Let us know if you have any thoughts on these as well. Any and all feedback is welcome!

Controls

Keyboard

• Recommended Keyboard Controls:
  • Dash: C
  • Shield: V
  • Move: Arrow Keys
• Alternate Controls
  • Dash: SPACE
  • Move: WASD
  • Shoot: V or X or SHIFT

Xbox Controller or Similar

• Dash: A
• Move: Left Joystick
  • use A + a direction on the Joystick to dash in different directions
• Shield: X

The final version of the game will support remapping controls, but let us know what you think the default should be!
